Junior Counselor Qualifications & Registration Procedures

  1. Campers who will be in grades 9-12 for the 2013-2014 school year, with previous summer camp experience, may register to serve as a Junior Counselor. (2013 high school graduates are not eligible to register as Junior Counselors, but they may attend High School Camp.)

  2. A maximum of 10 Junior Counselor positions are available for each week of regular youth camp.

  3. When registering, an applicant should indicate a 1st choice and a 2nd choice of week to serve.

  4. If the 1st choice week is filled, the applicant will be assigned to his/her 2nd choice. If both the 1st and 2nd choice weeks are filled, the registrant’s name will be placed on a waiting list. Cancellations are rare, but campers on the waiting list will be notified at least one week before the arrival date about whether or not there is an opening.

  5. Campers may register to serve as a Junior Counselor for more than one week. Those who wish to register for multiple weeks should indicate a 1st or 2nd choice week plus any additional week(s) for which they wish to register. They will be assigned to one week in accordance with the procedures in # 4. They will be then be placed on a waiting list for any additional week(s) and notified whether or not there is an opening at least a week in advance.
